Forecast predict that the traffic load in the Middle East will be worth in excess of US$6bn by 2030 (Source: Hythan Haider, Chief Development Officer, Abu Dhabi Airports Company).
Whilst this growth presents a range of new opportunities for air traffic management stakeholders, the question is, with increasing aircraft movements and passenger numbers causing potentially dangerous air corridor congestion, how will the region effectively tackle the growing safety, efficiency and capacity challenges? In addition, how can civil and military cooperation be improved and regional relationships be enhanced?
Air Traffic Control Optimisation Middle East 2010, the second event in IQPC’s successful annual series, will be a unique opportunity for all stakeholders to gather and adress the latest issues, whilst considering the practical solutions that can be implemented to meet future demands on airspace in a safe and efficient way.
GCC investments in the civil aviation sector is expected to total more than US$45bn by 2014 and Qatar is among the regional leaders with massive growth in air passenger traffic and US$14bn of investment planned over the next five years.
The US$9bn New Doha International Airport will be one of the first airports in the world to accommodate unrestricted operations for all commercial aircraft, including the new A380 airliner. We are therefore very pleased to announce that Air Traffic Control Optimisation Middle East 2010 will be held in Doha under the official support of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.
At Air Traffic Control Optimisation Middle East 2010, attendees will have the opportunity to network with regional and international senior decision-makers and officials from civil aviation and military authorities, airlines companies, airports, government agencies, international aviation organisations and air navigation service providers, including:
